The Apple gPod- yeah right!

I'm not sure if anybody else has come across this yet, but there are numerous articles on the net that discuss a new product from Apple. They say that it is a handheld device similar to the PSP but the main difference being that it is more like a handheld laptop device rather than just a games/entertainment machine.

Apparently it features a 300 MHz G4 processor, 512 MB of RAM and 32 MB video memory, and a 1.0 Ghz system bus. Also the battery (apparently) lasts longer than the PSPs at 2 hours. Although it has a smaller screen than the PSP, it (apparently) has a higher resolution, contrast ratio and a higher refresh rate.

They also talk about its touch-sensitive analog pad which detects 256 degrees of pressure, and acts also as a mouse, and can also be tapped inward into a conventional D-Pad.

Many of these articles are dated April,1,2005, (April Fools!) and there is no reference to it at all on the official Apple website so I believe it is probably a hoax. Here's some links and a pic . . . what do you think?
